Where is the "15_mtl_FXR - FXO GTR_DEFAULT (Brazil Basic MTL)" button? Should it be a 'Sub-Material'? If yes, i don't have it.

It's possible that it's cut off and only says "EFAULT (Brazil Basic MTL)". But yes, the material is a multi/sub material and the skin has the material ID 16 as said in the readme.

Hey Thunder, great scene, thx. I like the way you set it up, especially the reflection on the windows are very nice and natural. I'm having trouble changing the rims texture though. It seems to be IDs 4 and(?) 5, however, when I assign a different material, nothing changes in the render. I can see the material in the right slots, so it changes there but not in the rendered scene. This is not the first time this happened to me, I've had the same issue with other imported scenes, so it doesn't seem to have anything to do with your scene, but maybe you know what the problem is anyway.

Oh... the rims have an own material. There should be a material named Felge. In the diffuseslot is a noise. If you want to have another color, simply change those two colors of the noise. But you have to experiment a bit with it...
I'll post an update later, it includes better named materials, an updated readme and some fixes on the rear lights, which were too bright.
Also my FZ50 GTR scene will be in my first post.

Yeah, thx, Thunder, I noticed that, so the rims material is probably not in the multi/sub-object, I guess? Anyway, here's a max scene for the ufr. To make it as easy as possible it uses pretty much the same settings as Thunders XRR scene (refer to his readme). Hope it works out for you guys: UFR.maxFO8.maxLX6.maxFOX.maxFXO.maxedit: material IDs differ of course, since it's a different car. In order to figure out which part of the car uses which material ID, just click on the object you want to examine, go to "modify", select "face" (or press "3"), click on any of the faces you want to know the material of and look down where it says "surface properties".

The ID16 material has a totaly weird name. I'll check it tomorrow but i'm pretty certain it has nothing to do with HTML and brasil (in fact if i'm not mistaken it contains XRR).

The Problem with the XRR skin material was, that i copied the material from my FXR scene. You'll get the updated scene in a few minutes...
/edit: First post updated. fzr scene follows in a few minutes

FZ50 GTR scene online, please read the readmefile and report bugs! Thanks for using my scenes.
Phew... that fzr was hard work... lots of errors, and the rear lights were tricky.. thats the only car wich doesn't have colored textures for them... had to recolor them in max.
Next one will be the FXO GTR. After that, you can make suggestions for the next one in the line.

Added FXR Scene... I think that's the best so far...

I tried loading the XRR scene and the UF scene, but 3dMax won't open the file. It reports missing dll's: reactor.dlc and ParamEditor.gup. File Open Failed. I'm using 3Dmax v.6 (and I really don't know much about it) and the freware demo Brazil render that limits size to 512 x 386. Maybe that is the problem?

Maybe this is because I'm using 3DSM7. Don't know another reason... I read somewhere that 3ds7 scenes can't be handled by older versions of max..

I'm using v7 also and the XRR scene works fine for me, so maybe it indeed is the fact that you're using 3dsm6... thunder: great work on the scenes!

Hmn... thanks Linsen... I rendered some skins yesterday and I found some new bugs.. I'll post another update soon, I want to see great renders of your skins without those damn smoothing group errors... I looked in the render thread at rsc... omg... a few good scenes, but the meshes were horrible.. When I finnished those 3 cars, I'll open a new topic @ rsc... /edit: Thought that I tell you what's still wrong with the meshes. XRR: -> There was a big smoothing group error at the front. Some edges were not sharp enough... and thats not good for the shape of this car.. there are only sharp edges.. -> Another smoothing error at the front window and the rims. -> The cage looked wrong and wasn't colored... FZR: -> I spent a lot of work in this one. Almost all parts are now single objects, that way it's easier to edit the car. -> The cage wasn't colored here either... -> Fixed another smoothing group error at the rims... --- But I think the FXR is good as it is now, I haven't found any new bugs... And I decided to do the XFR next...

Damn, Thunder, you are a perfectionist! Some of those errors I haven't even noticed. Added two new scenes. The FO8 and the LX6 (was that supposed to change? Can't remember...) can be found in the post with the UFR scene. Next I will work on the FOX.
