MRT and RAC are real. XRT is mostly Mitsubishi Starion, partly also Porshe 944, FC3s, maybe a bit of an S13 SX. The RB4 looks like a supra to me, FZ50 is a porsche (drivetrain) or a ferrari (looks), FXO is an Astra, FXR DTM Astra, the XRR looks just like a peped up 944, UFS maybe a Cooper S mini, FO 8 is something along the lines of F3000, FOX is Formula Renault (Nissan), LX6 is also a Caterham, and that's about it.

I would say the XF GTI / GTR is a mixture of Seat Ibiza (front, overall shape) and Ford Focus (tail lights)

Google for Mitsubishi Starion. You'll be surprised.

it always reminded me of a Mazda RX7. But as the LFS-cars are bastards (sorry ;D) there's likely to be parts of different cars in them.
btw: glad someone finally thinks the XFG looks a lot like the Seat Ibiza. Shapewise, I think it's as close as it can get. But I remember the myth that it looked like a Punto which is ridiculous.

Why are the cars 'bastards'? I don't get it.

so the lfs devs don't get stung by the big car companies with copyright/licencing issues. If they released and sold a game using a replica of a ford mondeo, ford would be within their rights to charge royaltiesd for the use of their design in the game. By making the lfs cars blends of not-quite-identical seat/golf/peugeot/etc, then they don't get caught out and can legitimately use their own shapes in the game. thts why they are referred to as 'bastards'

most companies do not allow damage modelling on their liscenced cars. this could be the other reason

Right the RB4 looks like a 1993-1998 Toyota Supra MKIV but it's AWD... where'd the come from if they wanted it to be a Supra? Only thing that confused me about the RB4. I still think they should make a RB-R with more power and RWD (that would look a lot like a Supra and would seem more like one than being AWD)

What's the point of having a real car AWD and the GTR car a RWD??? If you have AWD in the basic chassis, there's no point in going back because IMHO the positive points are there. there's better traction, it's a lot more balanced under accelerating (plus it's faster under accelerating because of improved traction), it saves tyres (we all know how a FZR eats the tyres),...

On Thing I noticed in otehr raceing games like Tokyo Extream Racer Zero/3. In Zero they didn't have teh Car Makers OK so they just used hte Body codes. In LFS i think they are Bastards of cross breeding....
But i think the FXO/FXR is a Civic/EVO clone.....
*won't mind haveign a AWD civic.....*
