I hope the skin itself isn't like this because there's a lot of jpg compression damage. And if you're opening the jpg and saving in it over and over again, don't. Save the file as a PSD, that keeps all of your graphics intact and keeps separate layers so you can move it around.

yup, I kept a psd saved as a backup. Photoshop is cool with all the layers and stuff. here's another skin i'm working on Now.. i just need that bunta decal pack. the skin was photoshop, but that pic and sig were MSpaint.

lol, i think mine are only at 8 , but i still have the psd. My skins are only 256x256. I dont really need bigger yet. Strangely the default are at that by default, but everyone else's is at least twice that size.

default should be 512 x 512, but most do them at 1024 to get finer detail. Any more than that is just a waste of memory, disk space, bandwidth and frame rate.

MAn, use 1024x1024. At 256x256 you won't be able to see the decals. Even 512x512 is kind of small (look at the default LFS skins, they suck)

Man, I can't stand the lack of detail in 1024x1024. I'll only use skins twice that size, because I'm a freak.

2048 is a great size to do skins, but I reckon most of the really fine stuff is lost when viewed in an online race, 1024 should be enough resolution for most peoples cpu and vid cards to handle.

The default skins that come with the S2 CMX viewer are 1024x1024.

well, i think i'm pretty much done with this one. I was inspired by a few Amuse and Jun tuned cars when i made this set. Neither tuner has too many decals on their cars. I hope this isnt too bad for a 1st skin.... xs.to/xs.php?h=xs25&d=05161&f=XRT_gabAMUSEBurn.JPG

just added a skin i havent seen made yet. It only took a day to make. I got as close to the Amuse R1 as possible then added a few LFS Decals. I've edited the 1st post also to just an update section.
