I really think your skins would look better if you used less or no compression. Notice the artifacts around your logos and areas where two colours meet?

What program do you use Honda? I think Bunta means the file compression which means the size (in bytes or megabytes) rather than it's pixel size. In most programs you get an option of whether to save the file with no compression (large file size) right up to lots of compression (small file size). You should choose the large file size which is no compression, that way the pictures and shapes in your skin will stay sharp

You use photoshop, right? Well, when you save a skin as a jpg, a window should pop up with the jpg compression options. I believe photoshop level 12 is best quality, lowest compression. Thats what i save my skins at for them to be nice and crisp

Can you see what I mean about the artifacts around your logos? Also around the wheel arches?

If your original work was high quality and you used no compression then there shouldn't be any artifacts. So we need to find out at what point this occured. When you resized to 1024 what exact method did you use? Do you still have the PSD file so you can continue to modify your skin?

Maybe try the "Save As for Web" command? It gives you more control on the quality.
