I like the enhanced panel lines and the mirror attachments. Dirt looks good too. What's the purpose of the small removable panels on the side though, I couldn't figure out.. The vent on the roof isn't fitting with the rest at all.

Just details. That's why it's good they are removable. With the vent on the roof I tried to do something totally different.

Just come back to LFS/skinning after a long break, and pleased to say the quality of work has definitely not gone down, I just have one, rather large question... well, large in one respect at least.
How?
Where do the ideas for the colour schemes and the basic (used in the widest possible sense here) shapes come from? What tools do you use to create them? Every time I try and make something more complicated than simple lines everything I use refuses to go where I want it.
Stunning work though, like really, literally in the most sincere sense posssible. Stunning.

Was this directly pointed to me? I am sincerely honored if that's the case. All I can say . About your questions: Sometimes a good scheme comes to mind and I know right away what I must do. That was the case for example in that Repsol skin. There are times when I really have to force out something decent. So I open the base psd file and start trying things out. Usually I start with the left side. Or I can pick a main sponsor and start there. About the tools I use, well there's only one for the main shapes. Pen Tool is my friend here. Learn to use it and everything will go right where you want them to go. If you want advice on how to use it you can pm me.

Very nice work here! My favorite on this page is the Exedy FZR - great racing design. btw, I would like to know the name of the font you used for the numberplate on that one.
