Driver CMX meshes for use in LFS Viewer.
Male and Female driver CMX meshes.
I've had these files for years but never released them for a few reasons:
- I expected the models to be updated around that time and didn't see any point sharing potentially obsolete content.
- The LFS Viewer was not designed to handle the driver meshes and Scawen wasn't sure that they would work properly.
- The skin mapping of the driver models is misaligned and overlaps in places, and again I expected this might be rectified at the time, or the entire model replaced.
As it turns out the model and mapping will be updated or replaced at some time in the future, though it is obviously not the sort of thing that is high priority - since we hardly see much of the driver in the cockpit anyway.
The driver CMX meshes should help you to overcome the skin mapping issues to some extent, or at least understand what the skinning issues are. There are two meshes; one male and one female.
You can put them into your LFS Viewer/data/cmx folder (in the LFS Viewer app) and then they should become selectable, just like any of the car models, or indeed the helmet.
***IMPORTANT***
It is important to note that the Viewer has not been optimised with these meshes in mind and therefore it is possible that some issues remain (though I have not found any) with the use of this content.
By downloading and using these meshes in your LFS Viewer you are essentially trying untested content which is not currently supported - please understand this point before grabbing the files and don't be pissed at the devs if you discover any issues at all.
If you wish to report any bugs or anomolies, please don't waste Scawen's time with it, just report it here and I'll make sure that any issues are forwarded for consideration for future updates of the LFS Viewer.
You can download both meshes in a zip file from Master Skinnerz site by visiting this direct link.
Let me know if you have any issues. Thanks.
Enjoy!
*all 'official' LFS content that we host on Master Skinnerz (including LFS sponsor logos, wireframes, and meshes etc) are shared with the permission of the Live For Speed developers.
