LOGOALPHA.dds If you get the DDS Thumbnail viewer from here, you should be able to see DDS files as thumbnails in Windows Explorer/My Computer. This helps a lot to find the ones you want quickly.

well i tried that file bunta but when I bring it up it only shows Micheline logo. I want to change either the torro or the cromo tire logo. Is it the same one? if so then do you know on the where abouts of the little pic that the other tire logos are?
ANd just to make sure I wasnt seeing things I double checked the .dds file and I even went in-game and the tire logos are still the same. So I havnt messed it up yet haha...but i did make up a backup .dds folder.
Anyway, the LOGOALPHA.dds shows me a mecheline tire logo only. Is this the only one to work with??
And thanks for the DDS Thumbnail Viewer link....I guess I overlooked it when I was searching the forums for the photoshop .dds plug in haha.

What program are you using to open the DDS? There are two layers, a BMP and an alpha channel layer. The BMP has Michelin and some white stripes, the alpha has the cut-out logos. The Alpha overlays the BMP. In the case of the top 3 logos the white stripe makes them appear white in-game. The Michelin logo works the same way and the alpha layer has a Michelin-logo-sized hole to match. Here's an example of my LOGOALPHA.dds with both layers shown. On the left is my BMP and on the right is the alpha channel image. The alpha channel works like a mask allowing only the tyre logos to show through.

ahhh, I am using photoshop for my .dds and I have the standard .dds file opener/compressor from the nvidia site.
I should be able to open the alpha layer with the .dds opener/compressor yeah?

Yes, there should be a way of displaying and editing the alpha in PS if you are using the plugin.

Glad to help. Also note that each tyre in LFS is different, GTi vs BF1, for example. Stretching of the tyre sidewall logos is unavoidable, try and make your DDS file as a bit of a compromise so that most tyres look ok with your logos on them. There is no perfect ratio unfortunately. edit: also on that Nvidia site, try the Windows Texture Viewer program. It allows you more viewing options including alpha layers and mip maps. It isn't for editing, but is very handy.

Moby; to see the alpha channel, click on the 'channels' tab in the layer palette.
