Yes they look very real:) (why's that backarch black on the side? It was on the render of my shiver skin which I didn't do..) Heh, sorry teazr.. was part of the material mapping, which like the windows etc, doesn't matter if you paint over it with the skinfile or not as it's defined by what's mapped to what polys. I need to import a model from scratch and re-render that one (and release the LX6 scene to accompany the LX4) Regards, Ian

Just a material test.. Work's great on these rims but looks gray on defaults. Im guessing they are too flat, hence not enough light reflecting? Anyway, let me know what you think.

Looks great Looney! The biggest problem with the default LFS wheels as you guessed, there isn't enough polys to get really nice lighting on them hence they look somewhat flat.. but that gun-metal grey / billet on those rims looks really good.. I love that colour anyway Also have a look on RSC.. I forget the actual thread, but I think in one of the F1C modding forums, one of the mods posted a largish thread with sidewall textures.. might be cool for some more experimentations too.. especially most didn't have painted brand names but did have the embossed printing (tyre rating, warnings, TWI etc etc). Something I need to test and experiment with myself. Regards, Ian

Thank's. For those that wanna try it out, i used the setting's in this thread. The biggest problem with the default LFS wheels as you guessed, there isn't enough polys to get really nice lighting on them hence they look somewhat flat.. but that gun-metal grey / billet on those rims looks really good.. I love that colour anyway Havent tried this, but would giving the rims a mesh smooth "cure" this? Also have a look on RSC.. My FZ50s were getting lonely so decided to experiment by importing stuff from other 3D apps.. not touched poser in 3 years but after a quick test (except the bikini didn't fit to start with lol)... think I'll be experimenting further Regards, Ian

Nice model ian. Really like that skin aswell, suit's the fz50's lines, nice work. You need a few more pit babes sitting/resting on the car though me thinks. Maybe add one sitting on the bonnet? One thing i noticed with your fz models, is the rear lights are a little messed up, and ideas why that happen's?

Thanks Yeah.. that was a quick experiment... I haven't loaded poser in 3 years and wasn't very good with it back then either lol. I need to work out something about target morphs or....... lol.. atm, I had to sort the bird out in poser and then export / import as you see it.. once in max, it has no bone structure, so rotating an arm to raise it fo example will rotate it around a big axis.. the same as if you were rotating one of the car wheels heh. Once I've finished reading the info I have here.. I'll be experimenting some more. Got loadsa stuff for poser.. from funny hats to a girly BMW Z4 and a manly Mustang The rear lights is a shadow I think, but I'll test this. Unlike a lot, I added polys for the rear lights to include a glass texture, so what you're seeing is reflections and the likes (remember the top lip of the boot overhangs the actual back panel slightly, thus causing the shadow across the top of the lights. In the majority of the scenes, as they're not glass textured, you get no reflections at all and the lights looked painted on (which they are, but that's not what we wanna see heh). I'll try adjusting the material a bit adn see if I can get a more coloured shadow reflection Regards, Ian

Why adding extra poly for glass, if you can use a shellac material? What's shellac? Well.. with shellac materials, you can use two materials as one. One's the basic material, for example the texture of the lights, the second is a layer on top of the basic material...
I think that's easier... experiment with it.

Ahhh thanks for the tip thunder.. I've only used the shellac material once when looking through a Daniel Buck tute on a billet material (oh, and on the failed mental ray pug 206 example by veXel). I selected the light polys, detached, shifted and textured.. shellac definitely sounds useful.. will have a gander at that next time 3DS is open and will save me updating my scenes twice lol Regards, Ian
