Hi, I have tried with the search module, but it seems that my question has not been asked before so:
Does anybody know a tutorial to render with blender instead of 3Dmax ? i can load the lfs model in blender but i don't know how to apply the texture to it.
Thanks a lot for your help.

i had a go with it, but unfortunately it appears that some of the objects in the scx lose there uv mapping when we convert them into an obj file. the interior files seemed to work ok as far as dash etc were concerned, but the lights etc were all messed up etc.

That script was written by a friend of mine, maybe I can get him to read this thread and help you out. He did some renders of our team skins in Blender using that script. I will send him the link to this thread, no promises though ... Wim

Hi, well I know the script is broken, but rather the texturemapping is broken. Bram who is using the script as a basis for his renders with his own ray tracer (liar.sourceforge.net/blog/) fixed it. He also had the same problems that some textures were mapped inside out. I'll ask him for the updated script.
What car and texture are we talking about anyway?

ive tried them all, with the same results, fzr keeps interior texturing etc but loses the texturing on lights and the main body.
is it possible that you could post up blender scenes premade for people to render their skins?

Tom Hi, Do you have some news about the update of the script ? Like Asylumxl said in his last message do you think it could be possible to post up some blender premade scene ? I think it could be helpful for noobs like me who like to render cars with it. ;D Thanks

Thanks Bunta, but i think i'am cursed the link to importer/exporter seems to be unreachable ( time out) I will try another day. Hmm, working for me here. Here's the link it goes to. Eh, might as well download them and host them, not fair to hotlink directly to the files. 1. Import script2. Export scriptIf you need support for these, I can't help. Keep trying the site in the url I posted.

Sry for the late reply: I talked to Bram and he hasn't fixed it because there was no way knowing what mapping was used. So to make story short: you have to manually edit them. I don't have any premade Blender scenes worth sharing.

The link I posted is supposed to contain a scrip for importing 3ds file types. Meaning somebody should be able to save a max scene in 3ds format and Blender can import it. I'm not sure how it all works, I just found the link and read a little bit, I don't use Blender. Maybe worth looking at for your friend.
