Merry Christmas to you all.
Many of you have been coming here for several years, others not so long. Thanks to you all for supporting LFS and being a part of this unique skinning community.
You may have noticed recently that our main site has gone down and unfortunately I have no control over the outcome of that situation. Currently I am uploading our skin kits to a new host and I will make them available to you as soon as I can. *Please be aware that some of the kits are out of date due to unforeseen modelling and mapping updates by the devs (extra polygons added to some models) - I have updated some of the kits that were changed, but not yet all of them.
I have been gradually completing the updated XFR kit and it needs perhaps another two hours of dedicated work before it can be released. The wire frames for these updated kits had to be created from scratch and a lot of tweaking to the existing components was also required. The new kits are almost a complete rebuild and therefore take about six hours each to complete. They are also the best kits that I have ever produced so far.
I must thank Scawen for almost always keeping me in the loop about LFS skinning developments and allowing me to begin creating kits for you guys before the official release dates of new cars or models. Scawen has been very supportive of the skinning community and everybody should know and appreciate that fact. We are fortunate to meet developers who realise the importance of the ancillary communities that accompany an online race sim.
Skinning is another great aspect of the sim and skinners play a valuable role in the community and in the overall appeal of LFS.
Thanks to Eric for never failing to respond to questions and issues about skinning, modelling and texturing. Thanks for supporting a system that works for users and for appreciating the value that they can bring to their own gaming experience, through their individual artwork and interpretation of the gaming environment. I love your work and your ability to balance aesthetics with game performance.
Thanks to all of the marvellous people who have moderated and admin'd this forum over the years. These people have always had, and truly earned, my respect and full support. Thanks for helping so many people get into skinning and digital art.
To the skinning community of Live For Speed I extend warm greetings for the season and wish you all a safe and fun holiday.
I'm sticking around to experience the rest of LFS, and I invite you all to continue enjoying LFS and Master Skinnerz for a long time to come.
