umm....there are a few minor shanges. Like the first chicane after the hair pin wasnt as easy to get through. The wall was right next to the track at the end of the chicane and the curbs were a little bit more forgiving than in the new one. other than that I cant remember all the changes but that one^^^^ was a big noticeable change that made a difference in lap times

Not had the time to do much with track renders/editting yet, but I will... thanks Looney for attaching that file.
With regard Blackwood changes for S2, look where the tarmac is darker - that's where Eric improved the track surface, and it's made more real because the texture makes it look like real work done in real life.
Other changes include the pitlane (especially entry and exit), the back straight and the run down to T1.

Oh yeah I forgot about pit lane.... One use to have to enter it at the top of the hilll and the exit was in a TERRIBLE place. What did he change on the backstretch might I ask though? And yes I remember the run to turn 1 being a pain sometimes

I think, apart from visual niceties, he smoothed out the crest half way down, which would cause LX's and anything more powerful to get snap oversteer. Not really realistic on a slight crest in a caterham... As you can see it's much better now, but it's still hard with a 900HP XRT

And yes I remember the run to turn 1 being a pain sometimes The original Blackwood had a different paved section a turn 3(2?). Also the tyre barriers were in a different place. Also the chicane was different in shape, different ripple strips and there was an armco-surrounded island of trees to one side (would be too dangerous in real life). The paved area was removed from turn 3 for a while but returned in S2. The large hump on the rise in the back straight was removed (cars used to get airborne or do wheelies in the early days before an upper suspension limit was coded into the cars and at speed most cars would bottom out). The pit lane was completely revamped and so was the race control building and garages. Carpark was added. Scenery has undergone a noticeable transformation since early demo days. So Blackwood has had three major face changes since LFS was available as a more-or-less a working piece of software.

Anywhere I can get a copy of that blackwood track. I had it but I think I may have forgotten to transfer it to my new PC b4 formatting my old one.

Are ya still looking for this Strahd? I found my copy that I downloaded when Looney posted the link.. if you still need it, I can throw it on my server here for ya It's in .max format. IIRC, you're not a 3DS user are you? If it'd be easier for you in .3ds format, let me know too and I'll export it I recently came across a 3DS plugin for morphing textures within UVMaps meaning to some extents (naturally it's not perfect like mapping a set of straight polys) I can bend textures around corners.. I might have a serious crack at doing this sometime once i figure out the plugin properly Regards, Ian

Ya the one I had must be gone, I cant find it. I cant even remember what format it was, thaught it might have been an .obj, I need it to import into Maya. .3ds I think may work as well, cant remember what exactly I can import anymore.

No prob's dude.. it's currently in .max format, but when I load up 3DS later, I'll convert it into both .3ds and .obj formats and you can then choose which is best (sometimes I find both formats useful for different things) Regards, Ian

Sorry for the delay strahd.. finally sorted it There's 3 files in the archive, a .3ds version and an .obj version with accompanying .mtl file. There's no materials / textures actually set so that maybe of no use. I don't do much with the OBJ format so wasn't sure and hopefully got the export settings ok. Anyways.. a download for you sir Regards, Ian

Cool.. glad one of them worked for you sir I'll grab ya an .OBJ file for the FZ50 too no probs.. infact, if I remember, each new car I open as I go (redoing all my scenes) I'll export as an OBJ file for you (if you want them). It only takes seconds to export and the same again to upload to me server so isn't really any inconvenience or the likes Regards, Ian
