Poser's great.. I love the number of adjustments you can make to things.. it's all in the detail as they say and you can get a lot of detail with that.. a great challenge too I think to make good creations. tinyk's was a bit of a Poser whizz.. although she'd never admit it
Thanks for the compliment on the track. Has been a fun process learning about many things and finally learnt how to use the bend and FFD modifiers properly Wish I could drop it into LFS.. think it'd be quite a blast for the FOX / TBO / GTR cars.. it's only 1.36 miles long and quite fast, but has some tricky corners you have to watch the Apexes on and emulated / hacked marbles
I did have another play with my BL1 scene I started but as something completely destroyed the mapping on my tyres (I didn't / don't like the original mapping.. is a _very_ strange method) I started to redo them.. but alas, I now have a choice of either trying to remove the modelled "flat spot" at the bottom or model complete new wheels for it as it's a royal PITA to try and map sensibly around it.. as you can see here. The tread mapped fine.. but the mappings all scewed for the sidewalls due to the small bump at the bottom and I can't get a perfect match easily (I'm lazy sometimes ) and that's only the first wheel lol.
FWIW, I noticed in your BF1 render above that the sidewalls look a bit funny. The tyre writing is mapped on a separate row of polys that overlap the actual tyre polys hence you get that noise the same as with sunstrips on GTR cars.. BUT!! and a big but... trying to fix that to something sensible is what helped trash the mapping for me IIRC.. but if you select the michelin logo polys as an 'element' and then hit the 'hide' button, you'll see the tyre polys behind it but edges are joined funny.
Regards,
Ian
