I recently (a couple of months ago) upgraded from v7 to v8 and just copied / resintalled my plugins into the new 3dsmax8 dir and have had no probs with any of them, including the CMX importer.. hmmm. I've packed up the copy I currently have installed here along with a DLL file that maybe required (it's just a VisualC++ runtime lib). Unpack the archive to your 3ds root dir and it'll drop the plugin and DLL files into your 'plugins' dir. Load 3DS after than and all _should_ be dandy Grab the archive from here. Regards, Ian

From what I understand, v9's plugin system is quite different to 6 / 7 / 8 and I think most plugins written for those versions will fail. I don't think we'll see an updated version for 3DS 9 anytime soon, haven't seen anything of person who coded the plugin for a looooong time. Regards, Ian EDIT: That said, I know there's restrictions if you only use the free version of brazil, but the scenes at dS Autos should at least allow you to render some skins in 3DS 9 (but I only have 3DS 8 here and not tried, so don't shoot me if they don't work ).

Will 3d max 6 do? I'm not sure it seems a bit too old.

Yup, the plugin was written for v6 IIRC, it just also happens to work in 7 and 8 too Regards, Ian
