My sidewalls? I never made any (except a shoddy Shinozooka one to replace the Michelin ones..) Did you mean Justin's high-res high detailed ones?

I'd be interested if anyone can help show a noob like me how to get the edited tyrewalls (Teazr's) into a 3Ds render!

I just thought of something... are you using the latest CMX meshes? If you're using an older model it won't have the mapping for the sidewalls on the tires!

Hmm, not sure really, but I had to d/load and reinstall LFS about 3 weeks ago due to my earlier HD failure, so i guess it's the latest. I presumed it was a 3dsmax thing, nothing to do with the cmx meshes, we're talking about rendering here, not the cmx viewer.

Yes, but the meshes that people use for rendering are converted from the CMX meshes of the CMX Viewer. If the mesh you are using is from an older version of the viewer, it will not have the new tire sidewalls.

I'm using Ian H's scenes, maybe the older (XFG for example) meshes will have problems but the RB4 and MRT scenes are both for 3DSmax8, so I'm presuming they are much more recent, if Ian has included the sidewall mapping as a separate thing. Separate question is, is there a way then of getting the new sidewall textures incorporated onto an older 3dsmax7 scene? Same old question: On a new 3dsmax8 scene, how do I get the sidewalls to appear on the render?

As Bunta said, those scenes probably use older versions of the mesh. You'll have to convert the newer meshes yourself if someone hasn't done it already. Maybe email or PM Ian and see if he has any plans on converting the newer meshes and making scenes?
