dirt/shadow/grime templates??
For instance, not to look like a really dirty car but more along the lines of shadowing where vents are, maybe where some rubber bits may be and small amount of dirt or grime like on the fronts and backs of the car.
Kind of like how a car would normally look during a race.
Are there any kits around here like that?

I have seen a dirt template for the XRR though, you'll have to search the LFS forums for that. Shadows can be done by putting the defalt template above your skin and setting it to 'multiply.' Back before S2 was available, GonePostal did some templates with proper shading and highlights, but he hasn't done any for S2

There are a lot of things like this that I originally considered putting into the kits but at some point I decided that things like this should be an effort of the individual and not available in the kits. How far do we go to provide skinning tools? Where do you draw the line between helping the skinner and doing all of the hard work for them?

THanks Maggot on the shading hint I wasn't meaning like a highly detailed kit really. More of something like a base kit that have a few things that are always going to show up on a car in real life. But since there aren't any kits around here do you guys have any particular way you make dirt/grime look realistic on your skins mates?

I've done the few I've used using the various brushes in photoshop. But sadly they're never going to look very realistic since the dirt is going to remain as shiny as the rest of the skin.
