I was wondering, while I was trying to create new brands for the tyres in LFS... How to get the background perfectly matching the tyre color. For some reason, it either doesn't work, or creates a "line" on tyre, with name written. You see it has been editted.
How would we make the background "correctly" matching the tyre?

You need to make an alpha channel. Look at the way the origional tyre texture is done. The text itself is just a white strip on the texture; the alpha channel tells the game what part of that white strip to show, and what to make invisible.

What program are you using to edit the DDS file?

If you remove the alpha chanel i think you can have it as you want, exprimented with that a while ago

The reason I've used the alpha channel is because the tire colour might change a little, requiring you to fix your tyre texture. Plus, removing the alpha channel means you have to match up your grey exactly to that of the tire. Easier to just modify the alpha imho.
