I think we need some more info, like what you wanna do with the computer? What your budget is?

Guess depends on what you're after really.. but I only had onboard gfx a while back and bought an NVidia FX5900XT Ultra-something-or-other for ~£130 ($210ish?). I don't know how this compares with "right now's" cards as it's not the newest, neither top of the range.. but suits me fine for my graphics work and playing the few games that I do (I don't play "run-around-shoot-everything" games though) There'll be other suggestions, but so far, I've been happy with this.. although its the first ever gfx card I've had lol Regards, Ian

You should be safe with virtually any card that has 256MB of DDR Memory. 128MB would suffice, but the extra is not going to cost much more so you might as well go for the bigger one. Brand is more or less irrelevant these days.
My 128MB DDR Nvidia card works just fine with LFS, my 256MB Nvidia card works even better.
I also strongly recommend 512MB of system RAM, no less.

6600GT if you're 'on budget' (yeah, not the cheapest, but cheap for the performance). For ultimate performance, i'd go with a 7800GT, which is 100$ cheaper than a GTX but not as slow, almost eaqual, especially if you overclock it.

It's almost an euro per litre here. But our country has a lower standard (pays are lower).

I'd rather drink Pepsi than Coke, I'd rather drink petrol than Coke!
Petrol here: $1.19 per litre which equals:
0.496477 GBP 0.733751 EUR 1.43509 DEM
*my state has rather low fuel taxes, in other parts of my country fuel is up 15% more per litre.
