Well, since the gas prices have taken this over, I am happy to say that I am getting 51.6 mpg (not sure kpl?) on last fill up. Man, I love that. I can still do 0-60mph in 4.8 seconds to boot :-). Although running at 10,500 rpm getting that 0-60 in under 5 seconds won't net me quite 51.6 mpg, maybe more like 45 mpg. I love these rich yuppies around here that trade their paid for car for a $25,000 electric hybrid to save themselves $60 a month in gas. They never think that they are paying $300+ a month car payment and probably $50 or so a month insurance to save themselves that $60 a month in gas. Or around here in the states, they justify the $20,000 they spend on their Harley on the savings they are getting in gas usage. I only paid $900 on my bike and I save $75 in gas. I ride every day to work 4 months a year for 4 years now. That's a savings of $1200.
Though this last fill it cost me $8.50 to fill less than 3 gallons. I filled my car up when I bought it in 1999 for $8.00 and it fills with 13 gallons.

Love all these lot moaning about gas prices, yet they continue to drive gas guzzling cars. Get a bike, they are faster, you dont get stuck in traffic, and you get about 70/90 mpg.. ;D I did anyway, until it was nicked.. Oh yes, bikes rule.

Smoother gameplay and and faster response makes a huge difference to racing. Our different PCs give a different gaming experience, we are not all equal!

I have NO idea what you bought. AFAIK AMD doesn't make 33MHz bus mobos anymore, except some Socket A mobos. If you went with a Barton, or worse yet, with a sempron, you screwed it up real bad. AMD64 has HTT, hyper transport technology that uses either 1GHz or 800MHz bus (1GHz for s939 mobos, they have dual channel ram, 800 for s754 mobos, only single channel ram, they are f00.). And there are lots of nVidias with 256 megs of ram, heck, i even had a 5200 and it was slow as hell but now i'm on a 6600GT that has 128 and it's WAAAAAAAAAY faster. Additional RAM only helps in higher resolutons because the picture showed on the screen utilizes bigger textures. But in high resolutions the GPU becomes a bottleneck in 5200s case. In the 7800GTX's case the bottleneck is the CPu though.

My old 5200 DDR was a fantastic card, still use it another PC and still going strong. Any bottleneck can mar performance.

As my recent pc upgrade revealed, lfs is far more cpu dependant, so the card will maybe allow higher res but the cpu speed makes a really significant diff to the fps performance

That's true. I get on average about 80 FPS, max about 100 on AMD64, 1024x786x32 @ 85hz, 2x AA, 4xQ AF when i used to get 60ish and less on a P4. Both on 6600GT.

LOL the only thing I find amusing really is when people complain it's what, $3 a gallon? I don't remember petrol being that cheap here in all my days on this planet, heh.. but as a comparison, we pay about the equiv of $8-9 a gallon and have done for years Not whinging.. just find it vaguely amusing.. and can't wait to start paying $3 a gallon when I move Regards, Ian

Does UK or even some other countries have to pay medical or high property taxes like we do in US. I think thats why we had cheaper gas prices usually.Well did.
