Hi, here comes a question for which I was fiddling around with the game... The main reason I make Skins is to race with realistic cars most of the times, but I couldn't find a way to make the AI cars use my skins, they all were from the default colors I know it might sound like a dumb question but is there a way to make the skins work for them? I found no AI options whatsoever yet... I have placed my skins both in the skins and skin_x folder... I've made 3 so far, one more in progress, I can select the skins for my cars... they look very good (because of the game, not of my skins lol) but AI looks like "testing cars" Any help will be seriously appreciated. Hey Sergio,
Yes it works. A bit tricky, but it works. Go to your options. There should be a point "AI use Player Skins" Should be "yes". Then you go to Singleplayer. Box. Then you chose a skin u want for an AI for your own car. then you add an AI to the Racinggrid. The Driver added shuld wear the same skin as yourself. Now you again change your skin to another one you want for your AIs. You add the next AI to the Grid. The first one will stay in that skin you chosed before, the new one will take the new skin you have chosen. You do it that way till the field is full and you finally chose your own skin to drive with it. You will have a custom Racer-Grid.
Hope it was understandable... Fox

In your Options/ Misc menu you can choose the option "AI use player colours"
Choose a skin as if you are going to use it yourself, add an AI, choose another skin, add the next AI, etc. You can also allocate a particular setup for your AI using the same method, notice in the same misc menu the option for "AI use player setup".
edit: geez Fox, shouldn't you have been in bed many hours ago?

I was in bed at 6 o'clock and stood up 2 and a half hours later. Had a lot to do and not much time to sleep. May be that's why my explanation is full of mistakes. Eyes were not really open and I was in a hurry....
What a nice day, man I'm tired.....

It is tricky indeed, but rewarding thanks a million Fox and Bunta, and I know how it is when you're tired. I'm trying to make a FV8 and Formula Renault (think it's the "FOX" car) with historic formula 1 cars, started with Senna's toleman 84 and I think it doesn't look that bad for a beginner. I will try to post the skins and screenshots soon. Here's a sneak peak but the screenshots are still in .bmp format, here's where I'll upload the works in progress, just haven't found the time to set a download or showcase system just yet : www.interdelfin.com/antartida/lfs/screenshots - Directory for the screenshots www.interdelfin.com/antartida/lfs - The skins www.interdelfin.com/antartida - The main directory for other skins for other games. Most of my work has been for GTP (redline mod for N2003) and Trans Ams (PTA) from project Wildfire... I think they work with tptcc trans ams too... you can see some screenshots here : www.interdelfin.com/antartida/gtp/screenshotswww.interdelfin.com/antartida/pta/screenshots

well this works, Fox, but it will reset as soon as u change anything or restart the game. To permanently get ai using custom skins, you have to create new colour schemes for each car, using the ai drivers name as the colour scheme. So either create a new colour scheme in the garage naming it AI 1, or rename your AI first like me as I'm a saddo. AI 1 = Max Throttle (anyone remember Geoff Crammond's original Revs game on the BBC?). In Garage, create new colour scheme called Max Throttle, and assign it a skin of your choice. Now whenever Max Throttle races that car, it will have the designated skin on it. And it won't reset each time you chage tracks or restart. Note: you have to do this separately for each typoe of car though.
