I'm working on potential team skins for my team, ATC. My trouble is that the team's colors are red, white, and green and I'm having trouble coming up with designs. I want a design that looks fast, sleek, and neat, but the colors don't really lend themselves to that and whatever I come up with either looks too tacky(retro), too busy, or too 'Christmassy'. Which color should dominate? Should the tints be light or dark? I realize this is kind of a vague question but how can I make these colors look fast and modern yet not look messy or busy or like holiday wrapping paper when I apply logos? img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=render25ei.jpgI like how this turned out but I don't think that design would work well on the other 'normal' cars. But that gives you an idea of what general colors I'm working with.

Seperate each colour with a neutral colour like white. Although your chosen colours don't contrast very well with each other, they all contrast well with white.

...and once you have the white in, you can afford to darken or 'richen' the red and the green shades to make the skin less 'christmassy'. Love that FO8 skin, btw.

Thanks for your advice, both of you. Thats exactly what I needed. Red and green are very tough colors to put together but that's what the team wants so I'm stuck with it.
Thanks for the commendation on the FO8 skin. I love it too and the design works well on the open-wheel cars because there are zones (nose/sidepods/engine cover/wings) that make color transitions much easier but with the rest of the cars I was stuck as to what to do.
