Wow, I didn't realise how different the two paints were. I guess 4 years will do that to a team hehe Great work man!

Thanks guys... And yes Coreldraw rules! Im still using version 9. (No i do not wish to start a corel vs illustrator or mac vs pc fight here lol)
Yeah, IIRC green and forsythe split in 97? and thats when the paint changed... dunno, maybe it was 98. I noticed in 96 when Greg first started, they raised the stripe on the nose higher, but kept it pretty much the same as 94-95. The earlie rpaint schemes are my fav. But the newer indeck schemes (tracy and almindinger) look good too.
Why cant everyone be like penske and keep the paint the same over the years!

Thanks guys... And yes Coreldraw rules! Im still using version 9. I'm still using 9 as well, even though I have two newer versions available to me, 9 still comes out on top for me (despite the odd crash here and there). I use X3 for some printing jobs but for all my skins and the skin kits I have used Corel Draw 9.

Crashes eh? I don't get those with Photoshop ...Although.. I do get crashes in windows explorer when I go to copy my WIP into the viewer skins folder sometimes... heh. Stupid Microsoft...

yeah. I get an occasional crash sometimes if I delete a layer, but I always just save beforehand. I dont like 13... Ive seen it, but theyve removed some features that I find 9 is helpful with. I do alot of large format stuff.
I prefer my smaller vector files over raster especially when it comes to large format printing.
Illustrator cs2 isnt bad either, but it takes me about 2-3 times as many mouseclicks to get a job done in that program!

I'venever used CorelDraw, but gradients are a royal pain in the arse in Illustrator. I hate them in that program, and consequently I do most of my logos in Photoshop and just make them really big. Fits my needs; none of my stuff is being printed, just used in LFS for the most part.

One feature I like about corel, is you can apply transparancy to a gradient fill, blends etc... (way easier than illustrator). It makes much of my shading possible. I managed to get my training up to the XRR (too many damn X's R's G's and T's). Im really happy with the FOX, it's a blast to drive... Hopefully I'll finish up my training this weekend... then it's back to the XFG on all of the tracks to get my times decent enough to visit the STCC servers... Iffin ya havent seen em yet, i got a thread in the decals section, with 6 sheets of decals available in PNG or EPS format. get while you can cuz if My bandwidth shoots skyhigh, I'll have to remove em. I'll try to get to some more logos for everyone, but theres just not enough time in the day! Besides, if I do get some free time, I think I might try my hand at skinning an F08 to look like an IRL car. probably something easy like Pennzoil a few years back or current penske.

Yep, in fact I don't even use gradient fills in Corel, a transparent overlay fading from one colour to transparency gives a much smoother (and more controllable) effect than a gradient fill. I haven't used a gradient tool in years.

This chassis is sorta close to the Dallara, but then again, not really lol. anyways, heres a marlboro skin I did while tinkering with the FO8 body. (Click image for a larger version) Skin File: LoRes (380k) | HiRes (1.21mb)

OK, so I lied. After doing some driving, and practicing some laps at other tracks and configurations, I decided to come up with an XFG skin that was a little more suited to me. My first true love... BEER! I'll be personally driving this one, so this one is private, sorry folks.

Haha, sweet. I think you got the sponsor wrong though, it should say "Molson Canadian." Best beer there is. hehe Great job!

I love the water drops. Really makes this skin stand out. Great work. Though I'd say it should say Carlsberg, but that way we all are different I like the "Think when you drive" better though.
